Just discovered this forum and have it bookmarked for further reading. I have been interested in Super 8mm...but wanted better picture quality. I have shot a couple of documentaries with video but was not satisfied with what I really wanted to do. I then stumbled across Pro8 film which has now really got me interested. I have a Chinon XL60 Super8 with sound but have not used it yet. Does anyone know a source that would carry manuals for different cameras?

Try the Super8 List at www.kolumbus.fi/puistot/
and Shooting 8mm at www.8mm.filmshooting.com/index.php/
There are also several dealers who specialize in selling manuals. Good luck!

If you can master the manual style 35mm camera....including setting the ASA setting, F-stop setting, shutter speed, depth of field preview, focus, and zoom lens, you will have learned the basics of most super-8 cameras.
